I just purchased the Shark steam mop. This is the first product I've ever bought that does what it says it will do. It's light weight and very easy to use. It's fantastic for anyone that hates to mop, plus your floors will be the cleanest ever with no soaps or chemicals. I got mine from QVC because it came with a total of 7 cleaning pads.
Boy I'm glad I got mine from QVC. It was $79.54 total, that included shipping and 7 pads. I like it so well, I was going to use it again today even though my floors are clean
I got a Shark a couple of weeks ago and it really works well. I've usually cleaned my sealed hardwood floors with the Bruce floorcare kit. You know, the terry cloth flat mop with the spray wood cleaner. Well, the Shark cleans the floors better and shinier than the Bruce products. And, I don't have to buy spray cleaners for the wood floors or the bathroom floor. It does a beautiful job on vinyl floors. No soaps needed and they dry clean and shiny! I highly recommend it.
Yes Bob I got it replaced. I used tap water in the old one, but it still shouldn't have crapped out so soon. I am using distilled water in this one, well so far, I've only used it once. LOL!
Bringing this post back up as I would like to know how your replacement Shark is holding up Sandy?
Also, we just saw an informercial for the new Shark Navigator vacuum cleaner that is supposed to out perform the Dyson and it comes with the steam cleaner for 4 payments of $49.95. What do you think?

Penny, I don't know anything about the Shark Navigator vacuum cleaner. Is it a steam cleaner also? My new shark is holding up so far. I need to use it more often then what I do.
I just bought the attachment to steam your carpets. I tried it out, just in frount of the Sofa, it did freshen it up
Well I saw the Shark Navigator first hand at WalMart today. It sells there for $159.00. I couldn't see anywhere that it listed the number of amps. I don't really want anything under 12 amps. Also the vacuum as a whole is considerably smaller than standard upright vacuums

Penny, The reviews are great. The best part is, the fact it only weighs 15#. That is a big concideration for me, as we get older, the mind is willing but the flesh is week.
The Shark navigator at walmart doesn't come with the steam mop. The $159 price is just for the vacuum but you can get the steam mop for about $45.00 if I remember correctly so the price of both would be a little cheaper than purchasing through the infomercial if you have to pay shipping (can't recall if shipping was included or not. I did a comparison of vacuums and the Eureka Boss is comparable. It weighs about 5 lbs. more than the shark and has a 12 amp motor as opposed to the 10 amp of the shark and a little wider vacuum head. I think it also has a longer hose. Both were considered excellent for vacuuming up pet hair.

I didn't see this thread before I posted my one on steam mops. Is everyone happy with the shark steam mop??
I have the original shark but its not a mop and you have to pull around a reservoir that attaches to the wand. I use that for cleaning grout and the Parrot cages (every once in awhile) but it isn't very handy. Cumbersome.
All these steam mops are probably about the same,in terms of how well they clean. The most important thing to remember is to use DISTILLED water only. Otherwise,lime-scale will build up and clog up the steam openings, etc.
