Howe do you clean brushed alum. skillets

I have a commercial grade skillet/frying pas that I absolutely love. It has the best non stick finish inside that I have ever had in a piece of cookware but the outside is brushed aluminum and as you can imagine that no matter how much you try not to get greace on the outside it does happen and then the heat bakes it on. Does anyone have an easy or semi easy way of cleaning brushed aluminum? I use baking soda and salt but it still takes a lot of muscle power and this is a very heavy skillet...almost as heavy as cast iron.

Penny, did you ever try krude kutter? You can buy it at Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware. I buy it by the gallon and refill my spray bottles. I keep 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. I spray the white soles of my tennies with the stuff. Anyway it really cuts grease well.

I don't think I have ever heard of this before (I really need to get out of my box occasionally) I will look for it this week.

Penny, I would spray the pan and let it sit for a bit, then maybe use a nail brush to get in the grooves. Place a rag or newspapers on your counter so you don't have to hold the beast. What I love about krude kutter is, it's not caustic so you don't need rubber gloves.

Alice, I know people that use it on clothing, but I do not. You can use it on floors, etc. Next time your in one of those stores pick up a bottle, and you will find lots of uses for it all around the home. It's kinda like 409 but much better.

Just thought I would bring this back up. Before I had a chance to go looking for the Krud Kutter, I decided to try and clean the bottom of the skillet awith something I hadn't used in ages....old fashioned Brillo soap pads. Guess what? It cleaned the outside of that skillet like brand knew. Now just a once over with the soap pad when I wash the skillet keeps it shining. Guess I don't need to buy anything else.
