Penny.. i can't figure out how you cannot figure out how to use the site

First you have to type your name in to the blank, and a 'personalised site' will then show up with different headings like:

weather
search engines
people search
How to sites
Travel ( i wish)
Maps
Shopping
Directory


i just find it an all in one search site where Google would be insufficiently focused.
