After seeing it recommended by Mike on the Hummingbird Forum , I download Microsoft Security Essentials and have really enjoyed the ease of use and good protection it offers.

"Microsoft Security Essentials provides real-time protection for your home PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a free* download from Microsoft that is simple to install, easy to use, and always kept up to date so you can be assured your PC is protected by the latest technology. Its easy to tell if your PC is secure when youre green, youre good. Its that simple."

Reviews:

"Free isnt always good when you need a good quality product, but up to now Microsoft Security Essentials has proved otherwise. To summarize, MSE is highly recommended as a free antivirus program which will protect your pc."

"Security Essentials is Microsoft's first attempt at an antivirus program, free or otherwise. My take: they did an excellent job. It was super easy to install and even easier to understand and use. Microsoft Security Essentials even trumps most of the popular, expensive antivirus options out there."

"Considering all the above four criteria in this Microsoft Security Essentials comparison review, it is MSE that offers more compared to the AVG. Additionally, as the antivirus product is from the Microsoft brand, you can always expect improvements in the product."

Hi Bob,
So, what do you do with the infected file? I was thinking that my anti virus software would find this. [linked image]

Hi Sandy

If it finds a file, a pop-up window will appear asking if you would like to remove it.My anti-virus software didn't find the infected file,so it probably doesn't hurt to run the scan.
