Just in case you don't know this tip

Use barley straw. Got a big ball of it (it's wrapped in a mess net,so it stays in one piece) at my garden center and put it in the pond. After a few days the water was crystal clear. You can also try barley straw extract.

I don't have a pond but did make a bubbling bird bath from an oversized planter. I wonder if I could use that in the main container that I use as a holding tank for the water under the shallow saucer/birdbath and foundtain head?
