Hello Dane, and everyone else on the forum. Just wanted to let everyone know that the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail was featured in the August 2008 issue of Backpacker Magazine. It was a one-page article that appeared on page 41. It included a nice map, trail elevations and descriptions of major points of interest along the entire 70-mile trail. It also included a "Plan it" section with phone numbers and information such as Books, Directions and Permits. I thought about posting a scanned page but didn't want to violate any copyright laws. My buddy and I hiked from Ohiopyle to Route 30 shelters at the end of May. We had a lot of rain but the hiking was challenging and the views were very nice. I'm still working on my trip journal for that hike but I hope to have it completed in a couple more months.
