Dead Sermons and Dying Churches

We need Biblical truth-teller in a world of liars.

2 Timothy 4:2-4, Preach the word; be instant [be direct] in season, out of season; reprove [condemn / accuse], rebuke [reprimand / scold], exhort [pressure / urge / incest] with all long suffering [with tolerance] and doctrine [with guidelines and standards]. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine [principles]; but after their own lusts [desires & longings] shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching [eager / acceptable] ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables [untruth / lies]. (be seated)

(New International Version) "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching (eager & longing) ears want to hear.

(New Living Translation) For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching.

(Young's Literal Translation) for there shall be a season when sound teaching they will not suffer [tolerate / endure],

O Lets not offend anyone or they won't come to our church.

Some Congregants would rather diminish the awe and holiness of a Righteous God, in favor of a good-buddy Jesus who is more friend than Lord and Savior.

There is a great lie circulating that equates Love of Jesus Christ with watering down Truth and preaching a more accommodating gospel.

We need Biblical truth-teller in a world of liars.

We are more inclined nowadays to dilute water-down and adulterate the message and edit out the offensive, to accommodate our weaknesses.

We are more inclined nowadays to interpret Gods Word based on our personal weaknesses, to justify our faults and sins.

We are now living in a world where Pastors and Preachers are more inclined to preach a Seeker Friendly Gospel, than to offend their parishioners, to look more loving, yet, stagnating the spiritual life of Christians.

In today's world there are no absolutes, relative-ism, has become the bedfellow of the secular and worldly, and has become the temptress of the church.

In the world of the secular, people are taught to avoid passing judgment, be it in regard to:
- Peoples' beliefs,
- Lifestyle preferences,
- Sexual orientation,
- Moral judgments,
- Faithfulness,
- Or personal ethics.

Secularists want tolerance shown to their ungodly lifestyles.

O' Dont shine any holy light on my sin!

I want my sin without condemnation, without conviction, without guilt, without consequence.

The world and church philosophy has become:
- "Its right, if its right for you,"
- "What is wrong for you is not necessarily wrong for anyone else."

We need Biblical truth-teller in a world of liars.

In todays secular church of relative-ism, there are no absolutes.

There are no truth statements, except to say that all views are acceptable, except the Biblical ones.

Judges 17:6 states, In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
- When there is no King,
- When there is no God,
- When there is no divine headship,
- Then truth becomes a disposable opinion.

The new religious philosophy is not God's but rather that of man.
- God loves you just the way you are.
- There are no wrongs only rights.
- Nothing on the earth is ever going to change.
- Accept God and you are saved.
- You dont have to do a thing so just relax
- No effort no changes no wrongs no rights.

Is this really the message that God wants us to deliver?

Today many so-called Christian denominations and churches are in bed and committing adultery with their secular mistresses.

- Approving of homosexuality,
- Preaching from how-to books and not the Bible.

Heaven forbid, you preach, upon the Biblical wrongs of Gods Holy Word.
Or, Sister feel-good will let you know!

Heaven forbid, you teach, upon the Biblical wrongs of Gods Holy Word.
Or, Sister feel-good wont attend Sunday School anymore!

Heaven forbid, you expound openly, upon the Biblical wrongs of Gods Holy Word.
Or, Sister feel-good will get in a huff!

The Bible teaches us to NOT bow down to social norms, if they contradict God's Holy word.

Therefore, it will always be wrong to lie,
- always wrong to commit adultery and fornication,
- always wrong to steal,
- always wrong to bear false witness,
- always wrong to be involved in jealousy and envy,
- always wrong to harbor hatred, gossip, whisperer, and backbite.

Galatians 5:21, states, I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Its wrong, because God's holy character says its wrong CASE CLOSED!

As unpopular as it may be, Gods Holy Word is still true.

Whether it sets well with you are not! God isnt asking!

This does not apply to the unsaved, it applies to those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The Biblical term inherit means to be an heir to, -or- obtained by inheritance.

Paul is declaring that professing born again Christians, who feel, they have an inheritance, who live as a lifestyle in hating, being jealous and being envious of people will not be an heir of Gods Kingdom.

We need Biblical truth-teller in a world of liars.

Far too many Christians compromise and surrender the truth of the Gospel to the world, in exchange for a little worldly comfort. They give up and they give in!

Social agendas have taken president over biblical mandates, Practicing sin has taken over condemning sin, Appeasing people, has taken over pleasing God!

Todays Church has blurred the lines that separate lies and compromise.

We need Biblical truth-teller in a world of liars.

The world wants Christian morality and absolutes removed and the church is more than glad to accommodate these standards.

Question:
When did we stop standing up for what is right.

Answer:
When we as a church became more worldly.

The church should teach what is right and it should LIVE what is right.

We need Biblical truth-teller in a world of liars.

I Pray, God deliver us from this weak-kneed, spineless generation of television believers.

I ask you tonight;
- Are you proclaiming truth at your job?
- Are you teaching truth at home?
- Are you standing for truth in society?
- Are you living the truth?

Have our churches, and professing Christians forgotten that there is such a thing as sin?

Has our churches, and professing Christians forgotten that we can point out what is right and wrong in the world, because Jesus lived what was right and wrong?

Matthew 10:34, Jesus himself stated, Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Luke 12:51, Jesus states, Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

Luke, 12:54-57, Jesus states, And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

PLEASE, dont ever attempt to convince me, that Jesus, The Holy and Righteous Son of God, did not possess a temper.

Seeing, that the Fathers House had become a house of merchandise.

Have our churches not become houses of merchandise and merchandisers?

From cappuccino and latte swirls in the foyer, some, even bringing in name-brand Starbucks to sell overpriced lattes and cappuccinos to the affluent sheep, to novelty shops in the lobbies. Todays churches are piggybacking on other businesses to draw in more customers, more clientele.

John 2:14-17, John elaborated, And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he [Jesus] had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal (jealousy) of thine house hath eaten me up (devoured me).

Being, Christ's consuming, jealous love for God's house.

Are our churches houses of prayer, or, have they become a den of thieves?

Jesus was a perfectly balanced individual, Amen! He loved righteousness and equally hated sin.

Sadly, far more professing Christians, don't hate sin at all; rather, they live in it.

James 1:19, James wrote of Jesus, swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath

Lets however learn that there is a time for righteous indignation. A time for righteous anger.

When there are those who stand between God and the true worship that is due Him.

Whether it be through false doctrine, hypocrisy, or any other vices, lets remember the examples of the Lord.

Ephesians 4:26, states, be angry, yet sin not

We need to be careful to conclude that people have sinned, simply because they became angry.

Not all anger is sinful.

Jesus was NOT hesitant(timid)to offend people with the Truth!

- Jesus reminded a woman about her adulterous affairs;
- Jesus more than once hurts someone's feelings,
- Jesus calls a group of religious people "evil" snakes;
- Jesus called the pompous Pharisee's hypocrites, denoting actors playing a role;
- Jesus called some, "Ye fools and blind...";
- Jesus calls one of His own Disciples "Satan";
- Jesus accuses one of His disciples of being "a devil";
- And when he (Jesus) had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved [distressed] for the hardness of their hearts;
- Jesus taught that many people will one day burn in Hell;

Jesus shelled the corn (preached hard) and spoke the truth when it needed to be spoken.

We need Biblical truth-teller in a world of liars.

Jesus was quite outspoken and didn't worry about offending Sister feel-good.

But in Todays Church, better watch what you say!
Simply put, Hell will be filled with religious people!

In read the New Testament thoroughly Youll discover that the loving Saviour at times

- flipped over tables,
- threw people's things on the floor,
- physically assaulted them with a whip,
- and then drove them out of the building.

Jesus was no respecter of persons and spoke the plain truth without apology.

That's what you call "tough love."

Let us follow in the Saviour's footsteps by doing the same.

The church that has lost its truth is a false church.

The church that has lost its first love is a godless church.

The church that has lost its focus on Jesus is a church of the devil.

The more the lines are blurred between the sacred and the secular the more we move towards apostasy.

If people would only SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES as Jesus commanded: the greedy televangelists would go out of business, false doctrines would cease, cults would disappear, churches would go soul-winning again, and false bibles would be rooted out and eradicated.

If Only, people would ...Search The Scriptures!

Are you tired... Search The Scriptures!
Are you depressed... Search The Scriptures!
Are you afraid... Search The Scriptures!
Are you angry... Search The Scriptures!
Are you confused... Search The Scriptures!
Do you have a major life's decision to make?... Search The Scriptures!

We need Biblical truth in a world of liars.

What America desperately needs NOW is:
Old-fashioned,
Bible-believing',
Window-rattling',
Narrow-minded,
Spirit-filled,
Sanctified,
Soul-winning,
Hell-fire and damnation, Preachers,
Who aren't afraid to speak the truth!!!

We need Biblical truth-teller in a world of liars.

Psalm 1:1-4, King David states, "Blessed is the man that walketh NOT in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful [disrespectful / mockers] . But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night

Where does your devotion lie?

With whom does your devotion lie?

Matthew 24:27, For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Are you ready?
