Excellent Ending!

I think the previous poster made a good point -- there's a difference between something a reader doesn't personally like and bad writing.

Actually, the story is linearly complete -- it begins with Alex and Scully and it ends with Alex and Scully, and thematically deals with the growth of Alex's character around his relationship (friendship) with Scully. Just because it's not a typical happy ending for the m/m relationship with everything all tied up in a nice lavender bow, that doesn't make it badly written or a bad ending. It just makes it an ending of the type some readers don't happen to prefer...

And honestly, did ANYTHING in the XFiles mythos ever tie up neatly or actually end?
