Hi Dori and Joseph - I'm just about done with "The Freeway" and enjoying it immensely (I had to peek ahead to make sure it had a happy ending); having been on the art show circuit in the early nineties in Florida, I can relate! I laughed out loud of your mention of a certain artist in Gainesville selling paintings of teddy bears and building blocks; I'm certain this is the same person I was set up across from one year at the Gainesville spring show. We lost count of how many times her assistant went back to her huge motor home for more frames and pictures. There were no less than 5 well-heeled yuppie couples in her booth at any one time, and apparently some kind of force field prevented them from leaving without multiple purchases. Go figure. Anyway, your book brings back memories, and in these times, reinforces one's faith in the kindness of others. And, after reading of your experiences, I will never, ever whine again at anything that I think is preventing me from doing my art! Congratulations and much continued success to you both!
