I am 29 and originally from Alabama (Born and lived till ten in Tuscaloosa, lived w/family in Birmingham during preteen years). I agree with your opinion of Birmingham. I now live in Riverside/Corona area of So. California. We also have our "East sides" namely a place called Casa Blanca (Lost a few friends from high school in gang activity there). Read your book recently and enjoyed hearing about the different people you met. I laughed out loud reading about your attitude towards the oddball people in different situations. You convey a good perspective of the 25-30 something womens' thoughts. I am trying to start a career as a writer and find the most interesting things to read and write about are the everyday lives we live in some detail and of course the crazy things we will all go through and the dreams we dream. My family traveled many times all across the southern U.S. (that was my parents idea of a vacation). My dad is an artist and painted where we would camp, still does.
