Well, not only to I feel like I know you after reading the Freeway...I almost feel like an alter you! Having been married to a professional artist (http://fordinfo.com/scovel) for over twenty years, we could both relate so well to your story. In the twenty years we've been doing this (I'm the business manager plus I give business, marketing and licensing clinics for artists now) we've lived all over the country. Folks thought we were nuts or running from the law. In fact, Mike was just looking for more neat characters to paint and was never disappointed.
Once, we travled 1500 miles in a 1951 long white hearse with a sign on the back that said "semi-deceased artists". It broke down in Park City, Az. and we had to stay in a goat-barn-house-thing for two nights while the only mechanic worked on it! We had our two pre-schoolers with us at the time.
Your book was hysterically funny, incredibly endearing and refreshingly honest! I'm in the process of booking art-Pro business clinics in the Southeast beginning in late February and early March so maybe our paths will cross. Our very best to you both in all your endeavors!
