I can't possibly relay all the details of our L.A. experience so far, but I can give a few of the highlights. On the day we arrived, I went down to the beach for a jog. It is a few miles from Bergamot Station, where we are parked, so I was sweaty and red-faced when I got there. I was playing with Ruby in the sand when a tall, good-looking lifeguard, right out of Baywatch approached me and within a few minutes, asked me out! I could barely mumble that I was married because I was so shocked that the ultimate fantasy of most American woman had just happened to me: drive to California, go straight to the beach without make-up on, and be asked on a date by a Babewatch lifeguard. He said OK when he learned I was unavailable, but with a tone that suggested, so what? I guess that explains the 70% divorce rate out here.

Our opening was a bit of a disaster. The place was packed, but not with our usual art patrons. This place has become a hot hangout for young pretentious wanabees who come for the free beer and wine. We sold NOTHING that night, but sales have been trickling in since then. This stop has inspired some long art discussions between Joe and I; about the direction of our career, new art ideas, and more high-art-world bashing than ever before. Creatively we are more alive than we've ever been, especially after a visit the the Getty museum.

Annabelle is doing extremely well. She thrives on the contact with so many different people and situations, and has made fast friends with several people here at Bergamot Station. She clings to Sherry Frumkin, our gallery owner, like a barnacle and talks all week to everyone about her upcoming weekend sleepovers at Sherry's house.

The Freeway is selling well for a self-published book, and (cross your fingers) may be included in a photo spread in Newsweek soon. I am just thrilled that people are enjoying it.

I'll catch up more later. Thanks to everyone who is contributing to the message board. We love to hear from you!
