Then absent evidence that other lendlease ordnance was acquired at another time, this would seem to be proof that Battery Purmerend’s three 4-inch guns were part of the original, prewar sale. If so, it is probable that the Purmerend and Nieuw Amsterdam guns were emplaced at two entirely different times, likely the former first and the latter later. Are you able to ascertain when precisely these two batteries were constructed and their armament mounted?
