I now see the thin ribbon of blue just to the right of the gun emplacement. Which river is it, the Commewijne or the Suriname? That curved, overhanging portion on the right side, which looks like a roller path in a gun emplacement for an older or early generation breechloading gun, is in an odd location, for sure.

I can see it is open on the rear. How deep is it? Any evidence that the interior has been filled in with earth (dirt)?
