Gill's official history of the RAN states that three enlisted survivors of PERTH were "killed by natives on Java." He gives no further details of this. Does anyone have further information on this incident? My impression was that the natives of the NEI were not generally enthusiastic in the defense of the islands, but I am surprised to read of them actually killing Allied sailors.
