There are a number of photos of the February 4 bombing in Karig's BATTLE REPORT (1944) but none that will answer your specific question here. This pic has been reproduced widely and is even shown on the CA30 website as well, I think, but I have never given it much thought one way or the other due to its rather poor quality. I agree it does not really look too much like CA30. However, misidentified pix from the NEI/Java campaign are nothing new. David Thomas' otherwise useful BATTLE OF THE JAVA SEA began that trend forty years ago, I'm afraid.

Actually, though, there are quite a few works on the NEI campaign, but they require some digging to access. And there are more to come, I am certain.
