Response to Re: M.S. Bloemfontein

While preparing the history of the US ARMY 214th Coastal Artillery regiment one member of this unit may have been aboard the MS Boschfontein; traveling from New Zealand to New Caledonia (November 2 to November 7, 1942). You will note the information in this forum and on the web mentions the MS Boschfontein departing from Auckland, NZ on October 29, 1942 and info is missing until the ship is departing San Francisco California on November 21, 1942, a 24 day voyage (which may be a little quick to discharge army units on New Caledonia and then head back to the States. The 214th member in question, send messages back to his wife via short notes on a $2.00 bill.On note November 2, 1942-M-S Boschfontein. Can anyone fill in the missing port of calls and dates in the South Pacific during this interval?

I too have requested the War Diary for the MSB for November 1942 from the NARA and they responded there were no such War Diary's and the first War Diary started in December 1942.
