I'm not sure if you've ever seen them, but there is a whole series of photos in the Dutch archives documenting Hart's arrival in Soerabaja. With the Shark in the background he is show (in civilian clothes) with rain slicker and umbrella being greeted by Helfrich and staff. From what I've seen, the Dutch were apparently less than impressed with his arrival by submarine.
