Nelson: Oops-typo-meant Uluma Reef is where the President ran aground. Regarding "Ship Movement Cards" here is what was written about the President running aground.

NOTE2: GROUNDED ULUMA REEF. POSITION 11-07 S; 150-54 E, EARLY MORNING 26TH FEBRUARY SHIP DAMAGED IN INNER BOTTOM PUNCTURED. SALVAGE VESSEL AND TUG ENROUTE. SHIP STANDING BY TO REMOVE TROOPS IF NECESSARY COM 7TH FLEET -2700 13/2/44 (FEB 13, 1944).

NOTE 3: AGROUND APPROXIMATE POSSITION 10-52S. 150-58E SINCE 2/29/44. CHIEF SALVAGE OFFICER RESPORTS PROSPECT SALVAGE UN FAVORABLE AND UNLESS WEATHER IMPROVES, MAY BE TOTAL LOSS. BOTTOM SHIP SET UP FULL LENGTH AND ALL DOUBLE BOTTOMS FLOODED VESSEL HAS DRIVEN FURTHER ON REEF. REF: SYDNEY (WSA) 060739/3/44 NCR 20906 (C)

NOTE 4: HULL DAMAGE CONSIDERABLY EXTENDED (?) FROM GALE LST 36 HOURS. EXPECT TO MAKE ANOTHER ATTEMPT REFLOAT 4/7/44. SEE SYDNEY SECRET- O1O859 NCR 24735 4/1/44.
