I have posted a new version of my paper on www.academia.edu yesterday. I have corrected a few mostly minor errors and added some clarifications. Saw that also a few site members e-mailed me comments. Thank you! I trust I have clarified sufficiently.

I have received several interesting comments and have reworked my paper accordingly. Added some more details especially on the later phases of the day fight and the use of flares during the night fight, also added some more references in the endnotes as well as some source critique etc.
On www.academia.edu a more definite version of my paper has now been posted.
