Recently uploaded at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kTTeBqWnAA is the first of three hour-long videos, produced and narrated by Royal Navy historian Roland R. Smith around 15 years ago, and compiled from original footage taken aboard RN ships during its Indian and Pacific Ocean campaigns between 1942 and 1945.

On a sad note, Gordon Smith, creator of the excellent website, naval-history.net, passed away on 16 December 2016 (aged 75).

Regards,

Jacques

Very sad to hear Gordon passed away. I have never met or spoken to him, but I still frequent the site often en enjoy the wealth of naval history that he took the time and effort to compile and publish ...

Campbell, Hugh (NHSA 1995)

The first of Hugh's two useful little books on WW2 Far East etc maritime matters, the other being the now very scarce "So Long Singapore: RAFA Tung Song Dec 1941-Mar 1942" self-published in 2000.

Neil Hugh Campbell, former war-time RANVR officer of HMAS Tamworth, died in Tasmania on 6 August 2009.
