THERE WILL BE NO SECURITY COUNCIL MANDATE FOR SYRIAN INTERVENTION
Annan's proposal for Iran to engage in Syrian negotiations is new,
as is Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov's vow that
"There will not be a Security Council mandate for outside intervention..."
So tell us,. thou Oracles of Debka,
"Is SCO still holding open a partnership for Iran?
And where will Turkey go if shooting commences
other than behind an Australia-like log on one side of which there is the East
and on the other side there is the West?
If Iran goes SCO,
or has already done so,
and if push comes to shove,
where will Iraq and its young leader in waiting go?--
---to war, we can be sure---
but to war against SCO or the West?
And tell us please, what element in MENA will hope to better itself by allying with Israel, the GCC and the West?
And declare to us
as for those of us who are led by women like Clinton and Rice,
are we fated to face
China and Russia,
and the breakaway Stans,
and Palestine and Jordan,
Syria and Lebanon,
Iraq and Iran,
Afghanistan and Pakistan
and an energy hungry India?
And if shove comes to war
we know by now we cannot count on help from Israel,
and we need ask whether we can we count on
Britain and France and Germany
to guard our flanks
and lend us financial support
and do more to aid our "cause"
and forward our crusade
than such countries have done in
Iraq and in Afghanistan
