I think that the WH with the Dems in congress will try to get a "public option" pushed through by a different name and in a different version and I think they will fail again. If I had to bet money that would be my bet.
The way I see it Obama and the dems in congress have to try to really appease their base on this question or the mid terms will be a real problem for them.
However the bottom line is that neither Obama nor the Congress have the trust of the majority of voting and politically active Americans. It's not just health care, but the bail out of the banks/finaincal sector, the UAW pension fund, the house passing an unpopular cap and trade, and generally a feeling that these guys with Obama leading them are breaking the nations bank with their huge bidgets and massive spending at a time when most Americans have tightned their belt. IOW I think most folks don't think the current administration and congress can be trusted any more than a 4 y/o with a loaded pistol. Thus what ever they try to do will come under heavy public scrutiny and they won't be able to get away with the hurry up and pass it ploy they have been using to get their agenda items passed. Besides, the political sharks on the other side smell real political blood in the water and are wanting to attack.
