Claims it will actually reduce the deficit by $81 billion over ten years. That's deceptive because it is the product of front loading the taxes which begin three years before the benefits start in 2013. By the time ten years rolls around the system will be running large annual deficits.
However, in my view financing aspect of the bill is a complete sham. It relies on huge savings on Medicare fraud and abuse that simply will not materialize. The reduced deficit of $81 billion over ten years is misleading because its the product of front loading the revenue, but not even it will actually come close to happening.
