Claims it will actually reduce the deficit by $81 billion over ten years. That's deceptive because it is the product of front loading the taxes which begin three years before the benefits start in 2013. By the time ten years rolls around the system will be running large annual deficits.

However, in my view financing aspect of the bill is a complete sham. It relies on huge savings on Medicare fraud and abuse that simply will not materialize. The reduced deficit of $81 billion over ten years is misleading because its the product of front loading the revenue, but not even it will actually come close to happening.

Are you against universal health care?

I keep wondering why this system is so successful in Europe, but apparently can't be successful here.

I think part of the problem is the work ethic, or should I say, "lack thereof." We live in a culture of entitlement, and that it's okay to get whatever we want from the government, even if it means defrauding it.

In Europe, you can get financial help from the government if you need it, but according to my better-traveled sister, you must do something, even if it amounts to sitting in your wheelchair at a street corner selling pencils for a nickel each.

My greatest fear of universal health care is that, in this society, which champions getting what you can from the government, is that some less than self-respecting indigent types will clog hospitals by feigning illnesses to get a bed and a meal for the night. If they are eventually expelled when the ruse is discovered, they will simply move on to the next one.

Patrick, I am not opposed to universal healthcare.  However, I do believe that our deficits are already too high and that universal healthcare should be funded realistically and not through smoke and mirrors.

Well Keith, you can have your government health care but I want to keep my own PRIVATE healthcare. There is no end to the deceitful games these pukes in DC will play. Get a load of this:http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/10/splitting_obamacare_to_fool_pu.html
