I have voted Republican in every Presidential election since I first voted for Ford over Carter in 1976.  I will not vote for Newt Gingrich.  The people who think he is a strong candidate to run against Obama are simply delusional because I'm not the only Republican talking like that.

""It would be very difficult for me to support Newt Gingrich for president." --former representative Susan Molinari who served with Gingrich while he was speaker and described his style as "leadership by chaos."

"He was run out of the speakership by his own party. "This is a guy who has had a very difficult political career at times and has been an embarrassment to the party."   --New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

"He is not a reliable and trustworthy conservative, because he is not a reliable and trustworthy leader."  --Jim Talent, former Senator from Missouri and former Gingrich colleague.

"You can't have somebody that's really as irrational and perceives himself as Winston Churchill or the equivalent of Margaret Thatcher or Charles de Gaulle."    --John Sununu.

"Over a political career of nearly 40 years, Gingrich has convinced almost everybody who has ever worked closely with him that he cannot and should not be trusted with executive power."   --David Frum, conservative Republican columnist.

"Gingrich, however, embodies the vanity and rapacity that make modern Washington repulsive."   --George Will

Someone I know who is fairly conservative had this to say about Gingrich.

As a point of reflection from a military member and someone who Newt wants to become the Commander-in-Chief of:

- Just the smoke around him about his infidelities would have him removed from any command position due to "loss of faith in the ability to command"

- The fact that he has admitted to these infidelities would have earned him Letters of Reprimands at least, or more than likely Article 15s

- It is unlikely he would ever been promoted again based on the above and failures while in charge

- It is unlikely he would have ever been appointed to a position of responsibility again and likely would have required close supervison while still on duty

- He would have been SERBed or RIFed by now based on his failures in leadership, trustworthiness and embarassment he would bring to whatever service

And this is the guy who wants to be C-in-C over the people who are held to a higher standard than he expects to be held?  This isn't just one mistake, this is a habit pattern.

I've heard people refer to supporters of Obama as "sheeple."  Well, I think the term is even more appropriate for Gingrich backers.

Hell, Newt's been able to convert cheating on his wives into an act of patriotism, and the "sheeple" have actually bought it.  He's been able to condemn influence peddling for millions of dollars for the mortgage companies while collecting millions doing that himself, and the "sheeple" have actually bought it.  He's been able to condemn "Romneycare" even though he previously strongly supported it, and the "sheeple" have actually bought it.  He's lambasted global warming theory as fraud even though he made an advertisement with Nancy Pelosi endorsing it, and the "sheeple" have actually bought it.

Why?  Cause the "sheeple" are mesmerized by his supposed debating skills.

If all I have as a choice is Obama or Gingrich...

It's gonna be Gingrich

My favorite people are not running.

Mitch Daniels and Cris Christie for instance. What happened to Buddy Roemer? He has been running.

No way Jose will I support Obama.

I care about this country far too much.
