| Two pretty decent games this weekend. The four points help the Stamps grab first place in the east, altough Smithers has the games in hand to take over. The Wolverines were able to hang around for about 30 minutes both nights before the Stamps started pulling away.
Saturday finshed 8-3 stamps, 2-2 after 1 and 5-2 Stamps after two. Francis Johnson was the big scorer on the night with a hat trick and 5 points total, Brent McIsaac chipped in with two goals, Nathan Zurak a goal and two assists and Aaron Zurak two assists, Robin Gilbert and Phil Simoes were the other goal scorers for Williams Lake who had 13 skaters for the trip. Stu Barnes did all the scoring for Hazelton with 3 goals for the hat trick infront of the home town crowd. One fight. McIsaac squared off with Mitch Hobenshield and gave him a good beating in a very one sided fight. Richard Ward got the win for the Stamps and I believe Cody Smith got the loss for Hazelton.
Sunday was nearly an identical game, with again the Stamps winning 8-3. Again the 'rines made them work sending the game into the first break 2-2, but trailed 6-2 after two and lost again 8-3. Francis Johnson 2 goals and an assist, Brent McIsaac 2 goals, Jared Kohlen, Robin Gilbert, Booke Paquette, and Sti Sasges scored for the Stamps. Stu Barnes and Matt Kerr scored for Hazelton (can't remember thier 3rd scorer). Willie Sellars with the win and Cory Croft the loss. Again one fight, McIsaac against someone I can't remember. Maybe the Hazelton fans can help out with his name, very good fight went on for quite awile with both guys getting shots in, McIsaac landed the best shots, but a very good fight with both guys finishing on thier feet.
Reffing was horrible all weekend, no impact on the games, just plain bad both ways. Hazelton really seems to be thier own worst enemy when they fall behind resorting to stick work and dirty play. Certainly not helping themselves make any kind of comeback. Noticed Amedee Marshall is back in town playing for the 'rines. Has he been there all year? Hazelton has a decent hard working team, just seem to be lacking offensively, a couple more weapons would make them a much better team.
Stamps next games at home against Smithers... should be a very good battle. |

Good post, good update. A little one-sided, but I take it you're a stamps fan then.
However, you should know that officials do the best expected of them plus some. I would like to know if you have an official’s handbook that states all the rules and regulations before you blatantly accuse people of doing horrible at their jobs. I'm sure no one goes to you work place and tells you how horrible you are at yours. Take an officials course before accusing someone of doing a horrible job. These courses are FREE you know :)
Have a good day, obviously you can't until you can makes someone feel worse of themselves first. |

why you bother to respond with any critism on a ref is beyond me, you should know by now that as a ref you're the most hated person on the ice for one team or the other, or both, who knows. comes with the territory, something you have decided to take upon yourself. I certainly hope you didn't decide to do what you do to be liked, because it's a long time fact that you'll never be the good guy. even if you ref a good game, someone's bound to think you did a crappy joke. so if you don't want to be critisized, i suggest finding a new job. |

This exact way of thinking by people like yourself is the reason we lose so many officials every year. It's not right to view the ref's as punching bags for the game no matter what. It's the same as saying every bad thing that has happened on any job anyone has ever worked comes with the territory of that job and they "Deserved" it. That's a little unrealistic and harsh.
It's not a full time job, officials can quit any time they want, especially if they can't take it. And if all officials were to do that, I wonder what the fans and players would do? I'm pretty sure the ref's are there to enforce rules that they didn't write in the first place. And yes it is a thankless job to a bunch of fans and players and coaches most of whom usually don't even know the proper rules in the first place.
What I'm trying to say is abuse is abuse. This way of thinking isn't right, and by you saying so doesn't make it any better.
I'm saying learn the rules and educate yourself on them and as well as respect for those who try to make a difference. SO, it's beyond me why anyone would view these as a proper way of viewing these kinds of situations. | |
