| so our first game against kitimat was 10-0, ouch wellcome to the league. our next game was 1-1, shootout loss. game 3, guess who kitimat again, 4-2. our fourth game, houston 6-3, 3-3 untill 10 minutes left. fifth game houston 5-4, with two of our goals disallowed. houston squeeked away two wins there. our 6th game, guess who again kitimat 5-2. So our first 6 games, champions and runners up. thanks for the nice welcome to the cihl. then comes terrace, guess what, we win 3-2, uh oh, first time playing terrace, hmmmmm. so now its our 8th game and its kitimat, big suprise and only a 5-4 loss, not bad for a rookie team. if ya dont count the first game with a10-0 loss, kitimat has only out scored us 15-9 in the next four games. now all i see in the east is 9-1 8-1 10-2 etc etc, is there just no goaltending in the east, because if there was, no one would be close to hewey or mildenberger, whelan, should i keep goin. smithers gets lucky and wins two off kitimat, now there the best , what a joke. so if smithers loses to pr rupert, whats that say about the east. dont let a rookie team beat ya because we allmost can beat kitimat in our rookie season, and how long you guys been around. I guess ya got to beat kitimat some time eh!. no tallent out west ha , the only reason your area gets any exposure is because pr george is just down the road. |

Think before you type there buddy. All four teams in the East have established themselves over the years as playoff teams before the "everyone gets in rule" came along. So this success is not new. Congrats you almost beat Kitimat, so did Hazelton, so has everyone over the years. The fact is The east has a 9-2 record against the west this year, that alone should tell you where the balance of power lies. Don't get offended, the West used to be the more powerful division. I think 3 or so years ago the East didn't win a game against the west, obviosly now that has changed.
As for the goaltending, the only team that has given up those big totals against is Omineca with thier back-up in net. The leagues best goalie is in the west (Don Kenzel) and Deba, Sellars and Simoes are solid aswell. The East also scores more becuase they have more scoring power. Other then Kitimat thier is not a team out west that can throw two or three quality scoring lines on the ice. Every team in the east has two or more lines that can score.
end of story. |

Maybe you should worry about beating Hazleton before you talk about handing Smithers their @$$es next weekend. |

Hmmm okay so "squeaked" out a win.????.. it was 12-5 in the stamps own backyard... so much for the "powerhouse" east division... hopefully they put in a better show today... or the MYTH of the powerhouse east division will only belong to one team....

Detect the sarcasim in the "squeaked out a 12-5 win" comment syd. Smithers is a great team. If you don't work hard against them, they will pound you. That's what happened saturday night. They came down very prepared. They were down Friday night, in the gym riding bikes saturday morning and ready to play saturday night in a first place showdown. This team is likely better prepared to take the ice for a game then any other team in the league. If teams are serious about beating them, they will certainly have to bring up thier commitment levels.
