Best goalie - Moran (Demons) maybe Kenzle too
Best D-man - Mildenburger (Demons) Hands down, it aint even close!!!
Best Forward - Hewy, Johnson (W.Lake)
Best Team - Kitimat and Smithers for sure
Best Coach - Dont know??
Best Leader - Another tough one, ???
Best Fighter - Nate is pretty good at it as much as i hate to admit it, but not the toughest in the league!!
Biggest Pest - Whelan and Cullis for sure... Cullis is a big boy but plays chicken $hit hockey!!!
Best Scorer - Johnson and Cardinal
Best all around - Jeff Mildenburger for sure, has some of the best hands in the league and can control the pace and play with his skills..
Playoff Champs - Either Kitimat or Smithers for sure... too close to pick a winner
Im adding a new Title.. Hardest hitter - For his size this guy kills alot of people and he probably weighs about 170lbs but plays like hes 240lbs and he skates 100/mph, hes insane and we all know who im talking about!! Paul Plante (Demons)
Yes i am from Kitimat and yes i did pick alot of demons players, but i am not being biased.. That is my honest opinion, like it or not!! |

Best goalie: I like Kenzel, but hard to argue with, Morans 7-0 record and 0.86 GAA.
Best d-man: Haven't seen Mildy much, but hard to argue with his point production.
Best forward: Francis Johnson... potential to win the scoring title for a third straight year... has that ever been done?
Best team: Smithers... 4 lines deep no weak links.
Best coach: Gord Young... has the Steelies going from mediocre to best team in the league.
Best leader (captain): Hard to say unless you've played with them.
Biggest pest: Hassel from Houston is up there... anyone who gets so little ice time and runs there mouth that much is deserving of top pest honors.
Best fighter: Dave Wilejto easily, but he's not a fighter anymore.
Best scorer: Francis Johnson
Best all around player: Hard to say. Probably Derek Dinelle.... very responsible at both ends and good on faceoffs. Can score, hit, pass, control the puck along the boards... etc. Basically does everything well.
playoff champs: I think Smithers this year, although you can never discount Kitimat and Houston. Also watch out for Williams Lake who has been there before and Omineca who has a #1 goalie now in Guy Walsh.

I agree mostly with Rusty's picks -- pretty well bang on and you brought up a few that I forgot about. I still think best goalie is Kenzle as he plays in a tougher division. Moran plays on a good team in a weaker division. Honourable mention has to go to Prince Rupert's Keith Movald who is big and I have seen him have some great games.
Best D-Man -- I agree with Mil from Kitimat but it is hard to ignore Ian Smith (SM) and Blake Parker (SM) and Gordon from Omineca.
Biggest Pest -- yup, gotta be Cullis. Best fighter -- I never even thought of Wilejto in his day.
Best all round player -- I have to disagree with you there Rusty -- it has to go to Darrel Young from the stealheads -- he is fast, leading the team in scoring, the team is in first place, good hands, great at face-offs. While he isn't that physical like Derek, he makes up for it in scoring and setting up plays/
Rusty, I am always interested in reading your comments on this forum -- they are insightful and never biased. Keep it up. | |
