I saw on game in kitimat and was thankful for the reffing, it was well done.. Ayway thats not what this thread is about. Lately we have had numerous "fans" slamming the refs in this league for whatever reason,,,

But let me tell you a story... Sunday Morning.. Kitimat. Millar is scheduled for the Terrace Hazelton game. He is at work and is informed he has no ride to Terrace. So the league has a problem, and may have to do a "two man game" in a playoff... but Millar doesn;t say nothing to them so they have no idea he may be late for the game or if he shows up at all.

It was snowing and Paul Millar is standing next to the highway out of kitimat HITCHHIKING at 10 past 12, game time is 1 p.m. His ride bailed on him... He could have phoned and told them he would'nt be there.. .but he didnt he told them not to worry he'd be there.... regardless of the reasons why he hitchhiked and was there for the game....for our game the CIHL... I think this story deserves to be told. Its not just players and coaches who are dedicated to OUR LEAGUE the CIHL its also the Refs!....

Now I am not sure he made it exactly on time but he got there...the game went on..

So for you IDIOTS that like slamming the CIHL Reffing crews... think about this story... and for you "fans' that love slamming the Refs of the CIHL in here relax...... Hey during the game..yell at am shout at em...but at the end of the game....lets all make sure we remember to thank them for being there... and doing their best...even if their best falls shor of OUR expectations...
Anyway Thanks Paul... Really inspirational effort to get to the game you had committed do,,,,,

KNow something else guys...next year...The CIHL FANS and TEAMS should challenge the CBC and tell them the CIHL fans...and teams.... all of them are HOCKEYVILLE CANADA....

How'd a go that extra mile Millar! Don't know how far you had to thumb, but awsome Mate, awsome! Good thing it did not go as a 2-man system, that REALLY would look bad.

Hey Gramps...........thanks for threadin this story :)

Ya I didn't know if i was going to make it on time. Roads were not good my ride bailed at 10:30 and i worked till 11:30 so i got a ride home, got my touque and headed to highway 37. Living here most of my life i was sure i would get there just how close to game time as the question (they will either pick me up or swerve at me lol) Anyway i was hopeing the singer was like mystery Alaska, nice and slow but, I got to the rink at 5 to 1pm and the midget game was still on. whew I made it bought an power-aide and hotdog and watched the end of that game. It felt like a Hazelton home game as very few Terrace fans came out ,Lots of Hazelton supporters cheered and yelled, and yelled, and yelled and yell... well you get the point. Good hard game lots of hits and emotion

Good Luck next Round Kitimat,Hazelton,Smithers and Williams Lake
