Terrace should not be hockeyville. Are you freaking kidding me? out of all the towns in the north (kitimat prince rupert, fort st james etc..) terrace shouldnt even be close! For one their minor league consists of trips to rupert, kitimat and smithers (for their double a) I mean communities like vanderhoof and fort saint james and hazelton. I mean I can remeber playing in the omenica league, playing 2 games a day back in bantam. a game in the morning against fort and another at night in burns lake. thats hockeyville waking up at 5 am to drive here and there for hockey. Terrace just got a new arena i mean I just tihnk terrace being hockeyville is the biggest joke ever. There were way more small towns out there that shoudl ahve won it. Hell if terrace won this year then smithers should have won when it ran. Basically I'd say the only town up north that Terrace is more hockeyville than, is prince rupert. and thats not saying much at all.

Terrace= hockeyville?

just doesnt make sense to me how they won this. the contest is basically a joke and so is the whole terrace organization. good job guys, but you have to know deep down your city isnt hockeyville at all... hell visiting teams at your home town rink at cihl games are more represented than your own home fans....

Let me check...
Hockeyville announcement on national TV? check
Hockeyville trophy in display case? check
Hockeyville press release from Kraft, CBC and NHLPA? check
1.9 million votes? check

Nope, looks like we really ARE Hockeyville 2009 after all.

Thanks for checking though.

Tell you what Lazer, next year I want to see you step up and lead the committee in whatever town you are from and match our feat. Talk the Talk, walk the walk.

Members of this community put countless hours organizing and promoting this event. I know there were plenty of people from adjacent communities who voted for us, so it's not only people in Terrace that believe we are Hockeyville.

And if you think our teams only travel as far as Smithers, Kitimat, and Rupert then you just took over the title as dumbest poster on this forum. Our rep teams have travelled all over the province this winter. Our peewee reps leave early Friday morning by bus to attend provincials in Trail, our midget reps have left by bus for Squamish to attend provincials there, and our bantam reps fly out Friday to provincials in Powell River. We have had B teams attend tournaments in Mackenzie, Dawson Creek, and PG. Our minor hockey association now owns two buses due to the amount of travelling our teams do.

TERRACE IS HOCKEYVILLE 2009

obviously terrace is "hockeyville" i didn't mean it literally you F*ck sticks... But still out of all the communities up north that didn't run, they are all way more hockeyville than Terrace. Sure you put together a comitee and got lots of votes but that shouldn't be what hockeyville is all about... that's all just a big show for TV. The real hockeyville's are the towns with nothing else but the sport itself, the rickety rinks and local characters and the heritage of the game.

Terrace is not hockeyville. It may hold the temporary title of hockeyville, but all in all terrace (in my opinion) is not even close.

Well said...... its obvious now, being Hockeyville has nothing to do with community spirit or just support for our great Game.

I agree Ripbum does not deserve Hockeyville how many people can they fit in there arena...not much... the rink is the ****s and their dressing rooms are way too small, are they giving 2 rooms for each team so they can dress in LOL. They should have the game in ****amat where they can at least make some $$ and have a bigger crowed and a waaaaaaaaay better rink..yes i know Terrace is hockeyville... but come on let get real here.

I know who i will be cheering for GO! Islanders GO! could care less about those ****ty Canknuckle heads

whatever you want to call it, bottom line Terrace is Hockeyville!! Smithers could not get it done, no other northern community even came close!! Me being a Houstonite I feel that as far as being Hockeyville...Houston outshines them all...but whatever community you are from you probably feel that way about your community too! Quit whining about the politics, quit bellyaching about a few jackasses from Terrace, get out and do something that makes your community a better 'hockeyville'! And while you are at it be a good neighbour and celebrate with Terrace the National and International recognition they have and will receive for being 'Hockeyville 08/09'!!
