Who will win the almighty stanley cup, and who will be the biggest upset in the playoffs?
Well, I think that Carolina and Anaheim might play for the cup, so that would put Anaheim over San Jose as a big upset, and also going out on a limb, Columbus beating out Detroit for another big upset.
Carolina for the cup.

Carolina Is holding their own. Get Cole scoring a few will help them. Anahiem is built for the play-offs. Win or lose, they are making San Jose play. They are gritty and love the corners. That Phili-Pittsburg series is fun. Alot of hard hits.

vancouver top notch goaltending good D and can score 4 goals a game. the horseshoe is going to fall out hillars ass and sink the ducks. bruins from the weak side.

...Ducks looking like major challenger to Detroit in the West. Calgary, outside chance...as with Caps. One man can't do ut all. Sidney and Malkin showing cracks, not even two men can dio it all.
Same with NJ, but looks like Brodeur will hold them in.
Bruins a real threat, but like too many other teams, penalties could cost them. Reffing in all playoffs is brutal. NHL seems to have lost it.
My best bet...repeat for Detroit, if Osgood stays as good.

I have to go with the canuckleheads because there powerplay and penalty kill is clicking at the right time. Knocked out the hottest team in the league after the halfway point of the season.Goaltending couldn't be better, as Luongo is stopping everything. Hopefully the long wait won't hurt them, I do know that it will rest the banged up guys.
GO CANUCKS GO!!!

Ducks and Canes for the finals. They took out the two teams that alot of people thought were going to the finals. Still going with the canes for the cup but they would have a hard series to take out the ducks.
Ducks are built for the long hall of the play-offs.

who called the Canes... good one, but it didn't "look" that good with 90 seconds left. Amazing, but that's hockey.
Still, I am looking forward to Ovie v Sidney and watching how Detroit responds to the Ducks agressive approach.
I think I like the Ducks to move on, but there are plenty of question marks to keep us all glued to the big screens for the next couple of weeks at least.

Boston-Carolina. Boston will take them too lightly and be down 2 games before they know it. Carolina in 7.
Washington-Pittsburg. What can I say?. This might be the best series of all the playoffs. Ovie and Sid have been lashing out at each other all year in the media. They will try and prove who is the best. When they get in a fight, Ovie will kick the snot out of Sid. While they fight it out, Malkin will get a dozen points. Pittsburg in 7.
Detroit-Anaheim. This is the one I will be watching the most. I think Anahiem has so much talent. That young Ryan kid is going to be a scoring machine for them. They have awsome defence. I really think they will take out Detriot. Last series I was just hoping for Columbus to get a couple wins to give them confidence for next year. Anaheim in 7
Vancover-Chicago. Hummm. To beat Vancover, you have to score atleast 3 to 4 goals against Bobby-lou. Good luck Chicago. The young guns that they have and they can play a physical game. Going out on a limb here people. Chicago in 6.

Thought Luongo would perform better, but some people have been commenting that the young Hawks are under-rated. The way they came back against Calgary however gave some indications that maybe we were all wrong. I think Vancouver only really got to win their division because of a major "Jack and Jill fell down the hill" by the Flames late on. Detroit looking like big favorites for the final, but the Hawks may have soemthing to say if they keep playing this way.
I couldn't predict who'll meet in the next round in the East...last minute goal, or pp in OT for the Pens. Same with Bruins-Canes -- anybody's game...

...not a big night for Varlamov -- but considering the penalty totals in this series, the optics of NO PITTSBURGH PLAYER committing a visible infraction, a trip, a hook, an interference, a roughing seems very improbable and I think spoiled this series finale for me. Pens still convincing winners...who will they play?

I was 7 of 8 in the first round and 3 of 4 in the second round. Those damn Red Wings screwed me both rounds. I should of picked them, knowing, but I hate them, so, I will go against them again.
Detroit-Chicago
Like I said in the last round, young, fast, so much talent, and won't back down. Saying how much I hate Detroit, I'm going with Chicago. If Chicago hits everything that moves, they can wear Detriot down and beat them.
Chicago in 7
Pittsburg-Carolina
As I have been saying all along that Carolina for the cup, then I will stay with Carolina. Carolina has the better goaltender, and he has to stand up to get the team to the next round. Pittsburg can score so many goals in a game if they can get the whole team clicking. Gonchar is hurt so it should help Carolina.
Carolina in 6

Not sure they can win one, far kless four. Staal seemed stalled and with the pp going into OD I'm starting to thing, if the ref help keeps up te Wings may have a battle on their hands...if they can get past the surprising young Hawks..
What now Zooiw, we'll know better this afternoon.

Maybe next year. That Chicago team can be a contender if they can keep them together. So much talk about what Toronto is going to do with all of their cap money. We will see. Maybe next year I will be saying the Maple Leafs for the cup.

I gave up on the Leafs when I moved West from Toronto in 1980 -- adopted the Oilers, good timing as Gretzky was about to make them the best team in the world and four time Stanley Cup winners.
I'm still an Oilers fan, with a soft spot for the Leafs, but both of them have been letting me down - big time - for several years (well, except for the Oilers run two years ago, exciting!!)
Could be quite a battle, Pens v Wings, anybody's bet again...but with the finals starting June 6, who'll be watching...I figure it will come down to which team gets the refs' nod...both teams are where they are on power plays, this season, anyway.

Poppa Hewey an Oil fan,who would have thunk?I must say he does know his hockey! So my fellow Oil alum, what do you think of the possibility of the chance the Oil might trade for Danny Heatly,or trade to get #2 over all,who could be Johnathan Tavarres if Ny picks Hedeman?Things are going to be exciting in Oil country again.

Edmonton is a fun team to watch, but, they need some goaltending as well as scoring. They got nothing between the pipes. Scoring 6 goals is no good if you let in 8.
