Yeah it would be great for them, but they will have to earn it. Especially with the "high level" all star lacing them up this season in Rupert. Still no one wants to man up and say who this guy is? What's the deal ???

Hazelton is a good enough team to steal a game here and there from anyone. Definately not a contender, but potential to finish .500 and steal a round if they get a good match up.

Any team in this league has the potential to steal a game from anyone... the league has evolved so much in the last few years that it is much more competitive than ever before. I mean there is the exception of some younger franchises like Hazelton and Prince Rupert but they still have the potential to spoil againt more experienced teams. All the teams need are a reliable core group of guys and any team can play spoiler

rupert has a great thing going. the support for the community is the strongest in the league and with the rink being full every night, rupert can beat anyone at any time on home ice. you have to be ready for a strong game. the nightlife and parties after the games are always fun also. best in the league. if rupert keeps going they could be in the top 2 or 3 teams within a few years. i know the boys enjoy the short roadie to rupert.

PR has best nightlife in the north in my opinion, lots of stuff going on late night. I personally love the city or Rupert and the hockey culture is awesome there, Rupert should be the best in the league in the next couple years, if you can fill a thousand seats a night on any given game you should be

I agree about Prince Rupert's great support so far...

...but be warned. While winning isn't everything, these crowds will diminish without a reasonable return in terms of success on the ice.
In Kitimat, despite continuing annual success it has been an effort to sustain the level of crowds needed to support the team's travel needs.
In some ways, repeated successes are maybe just as awkward, because there's an expectation every night. When the Demons have a bitof a stinker, be sure the fans will let you know. Sunday games, I think in virtually all arenas, prove that people have choices beyond hockey.
Hazelton and Terrace are good examples, also, that the fans, while they are in large measure, with you at all times, often find a steady diet of losing very unpalatable after a while. There are other things to do..I know the Rampage management is aware of this and working hard to ensure that it doesn't happen.

kitimat will take 2 more from hockeyville this weekend..close ones, 5-4 and 7-4.
Hazelton will drop a pair to rupert..7-2 and 8-1. Williams Lake will continue its roll and take 2 on the road from the fish..6-4 and 8-5.
the game of the week will come in tire-town, the returning braves will give the trailer park boys a handful..flip a coin..maybe there is still some edge on the old tomahawk, or maybe the mudders on the luckies will still have enough diggin power..either way, welcome back the best rivalry in the league..this will be the game to watch in the valley.

interesting predictions, Hazelton could very well lose by a score of that margin, I was passing through town the other day and say a very small turnout at the wolves innagural 09-10 ice time, must have been around 12-15 guys out there... a few new faces including some young guys but still didn't look too promising. I guess a lot of regulars are out of town and I was talking to a local bystander and said a couple of them were currently in pro camps down south... whether that is true or not makes me wonder but interesting stuff none the less...
cant wait until the puck drops this season. should be the best season in the CIHL in at least a few years....
