The long Christmas break had no visible effects on the Steelheads who look like they haven't missed a beat. Steelheads win 8-4 over the Burns Lake Braves. Nice end to their regular season play. If they can keep up this pace, they may just pull an upset on the Ice Demons this year in the West?

Good luck with that, hoping to beat Kitimat to the top. If Omenica plays like they did tonight again tomorrow, its in the bag for Kitimat. Kitimat looked sluggish in the first and then Omenica just got too tired especially with a short bench. Kitimat took so many penalties and they could only score one PP in the first period.

Kitimat was a little sluggish to get underway -- especially for a team that saw its last game action Dec. 5. As soon as they got skating they got scoring.

There was work on the bench last night to ensure that lines just rolled over without running up the score on a team having trouble getting players to travel on winter roads on Jan. 2.

We should try to keep a bit of perspective...
