3-2 Powell . Congrats to all teams that played ,all had good seasons . I will say and I'm aloud my thoughts on this ,the best team in the province was not there . Dawson creek were loaded this season . And i have watched enough senior hockey to know they would have been very tough for theses teams to beat. Its to bad that BC and Alberta can not get on the same schedule, with them playing in there Alberta league it makes it almost impossible to play in this tourney. Our league finals are still being played ,the only way for them to play is if they miss there playoffs. I know they the canucks have checked into playing or trying to get into the Alberta provincials next season ,just like there junior B team does . I know some will jump all over me for my thoughts but until senior hockey in BC and Alberta work together to grow the game, it will not be what it should be. And when a team like Dawson cant even get in to show what they have its a real shame. And again this is everyone problem DC did fight to get in this tourney this year and Bc hockey finally let them in but our league said we could not go or we were out next season ,and as it turned out Dc missed there league final losing in game 7 to Grande prarie A;s or they would still be playing ,this is why Dc had to back out of the coy. Again congrats to Powell and all senior teams in the province i hope this summer, some of these issues get worked out.

Powell River over Mid Island 3-2.It would have been great to have had Dawson Creek in the 2010 Coy Cup.Essentially Dawson Creek had to decide whether to keep playing in a proper Alberta Sr League or participate in the 2010 Coy Cup.No real choice.Having a proper league is vital to the survival of any club. When the Royal City Hockey League and the West Coast Senior Hockey League folded in the mid 1990s the Regals were faced with a huge decision. Is there anybody left to play?It was decided to go Sr AAA and play teams in the Chinook League and beyond. The Regals even entered the Anchorage Aces Tournament. This is 'very' expensive stuff.
Ideally a Sr AA League will be formed here on the south coast.Four teams are needed for a properly sanctioned league.Maybe next year?
Now for Sr AAA.BC Hockey asked the Regals to enter the Allan Cup.There are only 19 Senior AAA teams competing for the 2010 Allan Cup.With major additions the Regals will play Whitehorse(best of 5 in Whitehorse)in April for a spot in the 2010 Allan Cup held in Fort St John.Whitehorse quickly came to the realisation that they needed major additions to compete at the Senior AAA level.$$$.
Remember when there was Sr A basketball in BC.There were only 3 Sr A baseball teams in Metro Vancouver last year. The Vancouver Greysox Sr A fastball club folded after last season. There may be 'no' Sr A fastball team in BC next year! The last person to leave the room please turn out the light!
Enjoy the Allan Cup up north.Kip Noble was 'key' for the Regals winning their most recent Allan Cup.
