| One team, the defending champion Williams Lake Stampeders, will be hoping for no "if necessary" third game as the CIHL playoff finals is staged for the first time on Smithers ice. The other team, the Steelheads, after a 'best-ever" season now knows none of it will remain completely memorable unless they can put the puck in the net more often than the Stamps and extend the series to Sunday afternoon...and win it all.
Fans and league-watchers will be wondering if last week's scoreless outing in Williams Lake was an aberration instead of a pressure-induced "choke."
Nonetheless, I wish I could summon up the energy to make the trip because I expect this will be an epic game. From what I hear the Stamps are bringing a pretty intact line-up so it won't be as predictable as the poster last week who wanted to just hand the cup over and save the travel money.
So Steelies fans, did the loss last week, the first of the season, instill some doubt...?? |
