Doesn't it seem odd that the 911 call has Douglas saying that he is trying to calm the wife
down, and that HE has the gun....if so, how did she get the gun back to kill herself?

That IS an interesting observation Chuck. One can only speculate that either he felt he eventually calmed her down enough to lay the gun down, or that somehow she got the gun back from him. I tend to lean towards the former.
