Is the price of the vct cleaning & finishing the same as commercial rate?

I have a resi job to go inspect and its the first resi for tile cleaning ive come across.

Cultivate the "OCCD" you had at first for the industry!

All depends if it is large enough an area to justify "sq.ft" bidding. Most are too small, so an hourly rate (private though, no need to discuss with homeowner)makes more sense.
Also, will there be people; kids; pets around? Probably some stairs too to deal with. Homes usually have nice wood baseboards instead of vinyl cove base that commercial buildings have so extra care needs to be done when doing edges too. All adds up to charging more.

if it is well worn and walked on, i would say the "factory" finish is gone and you probably could get away with a detergent. I would use a weak stripper solution though, just make sure it's a low-odor formula.
