I was just wondering if any of you have read the article in the VFW magazine January issue? The stories about navy seals in Vietnam. If you went with what the VFW magazine article says there were no Marines there all. I called the VFW magazine. Told them I was not happy with the article. There were no seals in 1962. The navy had UDT teams. A team that was with us never left the beach. It was the Marines from camp Schwab A company C company and headquarters company. We were aboard the USS Weiss APD (135). Third Recon A Co.C Co. and H/C C0. Left camp Schwab went to Subic Bay in the Philippines went aboard the Weiss went to Vietnam. Did beach surveys and beach exits all the way to highway one. The UDT team never left the beach. Read your article tell me what you think. Semper-fi Rich.
