I'm looking for some rock or metal that's full of really big chunky melodies and harmonies that go somewhere and make you feel nice inside. No droll repeating minor chords and twangy RCHP guitar torture for me! Something in the general direction of Avenged Sevenfold, some band called Furyon I've just heard and maybe even dragonforce... but I still dunno what exactly. Like, really well composed stuff without too much posing and madness
This is difficult for me. I'm embarrassed... Something about taking and giving recommendations*. Even though my day job is basically all about music, I try to avoid these kinds of conversations, but from previous threads about chiptunes and decent rock bands I hadn't heard of I actually trust you lot.

* you know, some weirdo shouting in your face for half an hour about why you have to listen to Rob Pantless and his Electrodykes, or go to their fucking open mic night because they just learnt a chord that goes really well with the other two they know, or buy a Volvo and listen to Eric Clapton and generally be a racist (it doesn't even make sense, but that's Twickenham for you), or burn your music collection and learn to tune in to nature, or stop telling them what notes to play (hey, music doesn't come from within, you're just the channel, man), or talk for 2 eye-stabbing hours about how every single band in the whole of London that you've never heard of dress (but never about what it is that they play), or give pointless coordinates via three other styles that are supposed to enlighten you (oh it's like Hector Berlioz's early orchestral works meets Rockets from the Crypt, but with more 1920s trad jazz), trad jazz... trad fucking jazz. Fucking trad, fucking fucking jazz (oh no, I don't like jazz... all those decades of fucking innovation and fusion won't do for me, no... just trad fucking jazz and skiffle and bloody dogs-walking-funny comedy old fart music, the grainier the better. People shit on my face for money)
