What happened was that for the last ten years I have been carer for my mrs, and she has to re-apply every three years.
This time just before christmas they sent a doctor to assess her , and a week later she had a letter saying she no longer got the top rate of dla, and so I would not get carers any more.
She has not suddenly changed for the better, and can hardly walk now.
Going by what other people have said, and what I have read, half a million disabled people have been hit.
Now if they manage to catch some of the people we all know are fiddling the disabled benefits system, fair enough, but they have gone about it wrong.
They are talking about assesing folks every year, but is that going to cost more?
I was told the doctors who visit are on £80 per session, so that could be at least five per day, per doctor. It soon adds up. |
