Reakon I can drill an 'ole in my aluminium handlebars without weakening them?

Reakoning i'd like to run the cables internally. But that means drilling holes in the bars. Seen it plenty often on steel bars but what about alloy? Not only concerned about it bending whilst riding but i also don't want it bending in half if the bike falls over.
