Will it EVER stop raining on this miserable island????

Again it's like nonstop freezing drizzle outside. I swear it's only let up for like 15 minutes at a time about twice a day over the last two weeks. And it's not NORMAL rain like what everybody else in the world gets, it's that horrible soul-destroying frozen gray drizzle so unique to this green and peasant land.





And guess who's got to go out on a bike in it in London traffic for a couple of days next week AND THEN probably going all the way to bloody Devon by bike at the weekend to live in a floorless ex-army (probably WWI) mess tent for two days being stabbed with sharp sticks and clubbed to death repeatedly by other hairy blokes dressed as "ancient Britons" for a battle scene in some vastly underfunded documentary that nobody will ever see, the kind of thing where some crazy haired academic type waffles and drones on about how The Celts or the Welsh tribesmen or some other half naked bewhiskered screaming fuckwits spent all their spare time beating the bejesus out of each other just to make their already short and brutal lives even more pitiful and insignificant while a bunch of foreign storm trooper bastards from the Roman Empire waltzed in and took over the place.

And I have no doubt that it will rain on us for 10 to 12 hours every day and we will have to sleep in muddy sleeping bags in a field somewhere while the academic madman gets put up in the local B&B and gets shuttled around by cab so he won't have to actually FEEL what it's like to be a miserable, pointless barefoot savage of which he apparently knows so much about.




If I weren't so skint I'd buy a bit of rope and hang myself.
