Does anyone have any info on who won this tournament? Can't find anything on the Kelowna Minor Hockey site?

Belle Tire beat Boston Rangers 6-1. Why do we allow these US teams to compete in our midget tournaments with 19 yr olds, Boston had 9- 1990, some have already turned 19, my kid just turned 16, even playing field?? I know people say the older the better competition, i agree, but this is a tournament and people spend a lot of money to compete with midget teams not Jr age players.

This is a great tournament exceptionally run and for a great cause and organization. BUT, if you are not a US team or Quebec team do not go, it is a waste of money. We went to this tournament with 92 's and 93's and did okay but just could not compete with the likes of Belle Tire, Boston , Gatineau teams , they were just to big and strong for us, talent level was the same but just the over all size was a diffiuclt task over a short period of time. Yes the naysayers will all say that it is great to compete Vs olde players, but the fact is that in such a short period of time , tournament play the older stronger kids are more dominant whe playing 2 games in a day. But, everyone knows the rules before they get there so , if you want a good environment then go if you want to win and you playing teams almost 3 years older then your team , stay home

Thunderbay won Kelowna Tournament 4-1 over Hamilton Reps.

Not sure why any ontairo teams go to this they just blow away all the BC teams during the round robin portion. Usually the only competition Ontario teams get is when they make the semi finals or finals. But I suppose it is a fun trip for everybody
