Merry Christmas!

by Janice

Just haven't had much time lately to be on here, but I'd read it once in awhile. Things have been busy in the education field with some extra, unexpected work right here at Christmas. Thankfully, I got mine done, not too happily, but I won't go there. We worked up through yesterday. Kaye, I haven't made the first thing yet. My guys always want peanut butter balls, so I guess I'll have to make those. Then there's a coconut fruit ball concoction that I usually make, too. The haystacks sound yummy, Dan, and they're one of my favorite kinds of candy...always try to get some when we're at a candy shop, like in Gatlinburg, but never thought about trying to make them. Danny loves anything with coconut in it, so I'll have to try those. Kaye, you brought back memories for me about the 5 and 10. I hadn't thought about that in a long, long time. I, too, loved the candy bins, where you bought by the ounce. One of my favorites was a white candy with little pieces of red, yellow and orange jelled candy pieces inbedded. Wonder when that store shut down. I can remember Linda Childress working there when we were in high school, so it must have been there until at least the late 60's or early 70's. I saw Cathy Cummins today, so that was a nice surprise. She and most of her brothers and sisters are going to be in with their parents for Christmas. My son and daughter-in-law are coming in tomorrow to stay through Thursday, and I'm thrilled to have them for a few days. Patty, I'm sorry the weather spoiled the plans for all of you to get together, but at least you did get to spend time with a couple of your sisters. To all of our classmates, I wish you a blessed Christmas and a happy and healthy year ahead. May God bless!
