I talked to Rebecca tonight and she said Ted is not doing good. The doctor's told
them today that he can't take chemo due to his heart and it is just a matter of time.
Ted told the doctor he wanted to go home. Rebecca said she would probably take him home
Wednesday. She said for me to tell her classmates she appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
Please keep praying for a miracle.

He is not doing good at all. Had another stroke today which makes 3. He also has lung cancer and
it is in his lymph nodes. I am Rebecca's first cousin. I know she appreciates all the prayers and

I don't get on the site often either. I'm busy helping with Mom. She isn't doing very well since the stroke; she only has 30% flow in her left carotid artery, 0% in the right.
I do think of you guys often.

I don't think I knew that she had had a stroke. I'm sorry that she isn't doing well. Have you retired? Try to take care of yourself too so you can take care of her. Hang in there and May God bless and strengthen you.

The breast cancer supplement to the Dickenson Star. They asked for personal experiences, so I had another chance to publicly praise the Lord for my healing, and 22 years of life after cancer (22 years ago, uterine cancer; 14 years ago, breast cancer).

I look forward to the time when the trials are over and we are with the Lord. I may be puny at times, but I have been cancer free for many years. I move slowly through this world, so it may be that I take longer to leave than the rest of you (Mrs. Slow Motion). It's all in the Lord's hands, and that is enough.

I will call them back and ask for 2 rooms. We do have to have room for the skits!!!! I guess that would cost us $120.00 then. The lady in charge is not in this week, so I'll call next Monday. She did say that a meal with the 2 meats, 3 vegs., bread, desert, and drink is $12.95 plus tax, but that was subject to change by next year. I'll keep you posted as I get more info.

They brought everything to your table instead of having buffet lines........country style maybe......it really was nice.....they served our drinks and everything.......I will pay extra to help with the rooms.....let me know what you need and when you need it.....I really miss not being there to help and be involved......

Did you still have a choice of 2 meats when they brought it to the tables? We may have to have buffet to have a choice. I'll ask about the choices and the prices. I too wish you were here to help. You must be over-looking it somehow, but it is the Breaks. It is confirmed with them. They now charge for the room...$120.00 for the day...or 60 for half the day. Did we have 1 or 2 rooms last time? I'm thinking one. If it was one room, did we have enough room? We have to have at least 25 people and that's not a problem.

Well, we had a meeting tonight. It was late getting started, but we won't go into the reason for that!
Anyway, I did call the Breaks today. Our reunion will be there on Sept. 18th, 2010. So that will give anyone planning to stay there plenty of time to make reservations if they plan to spend the night. We didn't get a whole lot of planning done, but we had a wonderful time reminiscing and sharing stories...until after 10 p.m. Thanks Mike, Greg Cyphers, Kay Buchanan and Henry for the laughter and for coming out for our meeting. We do plan to get an early letter out, and we want to ask anyone who would be willing to come up with a skit or participate in a skit to be thinking about it. We love you guys and hope many of you will begin making plans for being there next Sept.

All, I have to say is... thank you Janice for not telling everyone that I forgot the meeting and had everyone waiting! We did have a good meeting. I really enjoy sitting around talking like that. the courthouse? Like you, I tried both front doors, around to the side...both sides...learned a lot about the area around the courthouse! I finally got back in my vehicle and drove to the back and found Mike, Kaye and Greg there. You were an early arrival...I was a few minutes late so maybe they weren't there yet. Understood completely. Seems like detioration is starting faster with our generation though...
When my mother was my age now, she was widowed, with a 10 year old (me), a job, a huge garden, household repairs and even car repairs she did herself. I wouldn't want to take on one of those, let alone all.

I've been painting today, cleaning tomorrow, and Lord knows what the next day. It's also time to hang up the water hoses and gather in the last of the garden stuff. I usually stock in a bit of extra grub, just in case this is the year of the big one (which we haven't had in a good while I realize).
Also had the first scuff on our car. We kept the last one six years without damage. This one is four months old and got hit head on by a run away shopping cart at Food City. It ain't so purty any more!

Whenever anyone hears of one of our classmates' passing or their close relative passing, please let me know as soon as possible so I can send flowers. I did notice with her obituary that donations could be made to the Home Health Hospice. I'll have to get details on that and make a donation in her memory from our class. I agree that a memorial page would be nice.

I remember Emma well. She had been very sick for a long time. The last time I saw her was about nine or ten years ago. I went to see her at her home. I work with her sister Carolyn at the Courthouse. We really need to put up a memorial page.
