CLASSMATE'S BIRTHDAYS

My "Baby" is back home from China!

by Janice

Dustin has arrived in D.C. tonight and is on his way now back to Liberty U. by van. I'm very thankful for his safe return. I know I probably shouldn't refer to him as my baby, but I guess as moms, our children will always be our "babies".

death of father

by

Hi, friends,
I've been on the site, and have read a few postings about my dad's death. Thanks to those of you who have thought about me and said prayers for my family during this time.

Unfortunately, I was out of the country when Dad died and couldn't get back, but I was with my family in spirit, and kept in contact via phone as much as possible. According to my sisters, Mike Yates, who officiated, did an outstanding job. He told us things about Dad's past that we never knew!

A special thanks to Janice, Robert, Carolyn and Jenni for your messages. I truly appreciated your thinking of me.

I am enclosing my e-mail in hopes that anyone who wants to just get in touch can do so now.

Blessings,
Helen

Dearest Helen

by Patti

I remember when my Daddy would come to your Father almost every year for a New Ford...Orbry was so good to Daddy, He would tell Daddy to just test drive the car, and of course, that is all it took. My family has always thought very highly of your family. Prayers and thoughts, Patti

Warmest Regards

by

The death of a parent is a defining moment in life. When it's the last one, it's especially life changing. Suddenly we find out we are the older generation in the family. It makes me admire my own parents more for the losses they faced and still stayed faithful in their love and duties toward us.

I hope you'll stay in touch with all of us on our forum. Seems like no one posts much anymore, but it's always nice to see someone new. You're in my thoughts and prayers, and one of my dearest friends, from way back.

hanging in there. Dustin's wife had sent an e-mail today that one of the team members managed to get sent...saying they were all safe. Dustin had gotten 2 very brief messages to her last weekend saying they arrived safely. They return on Monday. Pray for safe journey. Your daughter did write me and encourage me. That was sweet of her and you. Thank you my friend, and God bless!

Hi Guys of Clintwood and there bouts

by Patti

How is everyone doing? There is not much posting and I need to hear from home. How is the weather, we finally had a breakthru and it is around 45 to 50 which is spring time for us. There is a whole lot of melting going on which makes for messy cars but...who's complaining. I am just happy to see the ground again. Take care, stay care, and hug those around you. A hug says alot....

Welcome Spring!

by

It isn't all the way here, but it's close. Yesterday we used the air conditioning in the car midday. Of course, by 8 p.m. when we headed home, it was time to turn on the heat--and it was quite cold this morning. Such is spring, we heard frogs hollering a few evenings ago, another definite sign; and my daffodils are blooming.

Clintwood is still here, and we are still blessed to live in such a place.

My husband preached at Dante this week, Castlewood next, and then he is open. So pray he will get more calls.

Along with the sunshine comes the inevitable need to clean the windows and everything else, but even that is a welcome change.

Blessings,
Kay

Birthdays

I know some of you have posted your birthdays on here and some of you have emailed me your info. The great majority seem to want the birthday info posted on a web page. Send (email) me as many birthdays as you know with the name and email address of the victim and I will set up a page with this info on it. Put "Birthday" in the subject line of the email. Thanks.

Kay, and also Patti for your encouraging e-mail. Danny and I drove to Lynchburg...partway last night and the rest this morning to have lunch with Dustin and his wife. They are very busy with school and where he is a part-time youth pastor, and they were scheduled to have dinner last night with the senior pastor. We sort of went on spur of the moment, but I felt that I needed to see him, if only briefly. And it felt great to do so.

I can't imagine such horrible weather. I would be holed up in Minnesota. I don't do winter driving!!!!!!!! I guess I would have to learn, but I wouldn't like it. Try to make the best of your situation. Try to relax, get a good book to read, maybe some movies...pamper yourself. It's also a chance for some prayer and meditation. I hope you can find some things to keep you busy. Ever once in awhile I like a little quiet and solitude. Take care and God bless.

About the Birthday Poll

by

It's been awhile since Henry asked our opinion. Since having the listing won by a considerable margin--isn't it time we got the list posted?

People who have some of them down could e-mail Henry what you have so he can compose a list and post that to replace the poll. Then those who are not listed could post their birthday to be added.

It's not like we don't know how old everyone is!

Greetings!

by

Glad to hear the Frozen Chosen are still alive and well. The meeting Jim was to speak in was cancelled due to the weather (rather isolated location); and we decided to take a Retreat time, just the Lord and us, and it has been profitable in that regard. Rarely do we ever miss a service, but sometimes the Lord needs to speak to you privately and directly, I think. We'll be out and about tomorrow. Have a good week.

When did this happen...

by Janice

I hadn't heard anything about it. Helen may actually be out of the country. The last I heard from her, she was getting ready to move from and sell her house. She was going to visit her sister, Penny in Georgia and then was supposed to go to Costa Rica (I think or some other country in Central America) for a month. I know she asked me not to send her any e-mail forwards, as she wouldn't always have access to a computer. If anyone hears anything, please let me know. O. J. had been in a home in Kingsport. Debra lives in Big Stone and Mary in or near Meadowview. Right now, I wouldn't know where to send a card to Helen.

As Kaye told you Spencer did not have infection, just inflamed hip joint! The doctor said it came from the same bacteria that caused his ear infection. I have never heard of this before, but the dr. said it happens all the time. As a matter of fact, another child came to ER, was beside Spencer with same problem. Both had been given Amoxicilin. I am wondering if it were Amoxicilin. ???????????
Nicholas went through lots of tests; Donna has not received reports on the MRI. We are waiting for those results. He has to have platelets every 7 days now; he has been transfusion dependent for 2 yrs. now, and he is accumulating too much iron in his body which can cause organ failure. So... now another med to get rid of excess iron.
We are still begging for platelets!! If you can't give, please spread the word. Call 423-224-5888 to schedule. It is a 2 hour process, and we know how much effort and time it takes; we appreciate it more than words can express.
Janice, would you email the Dickenson County teachers? Maybe someone can go on a snow day.
Praying for each of you--I check on you often--don't have much time to sign in.
Love,
Sharon

Prayer...

by Janice

Just read your post Kaye, and I will be in prayer also for you and Jim. Speaking of prayer, Danny has a stress test scheduled for in the morning in Kingsport. Remember us, too. I know we all have situations in our lives that need prayer, so let's lift each other up daily. Love and God's blessings to all of you.

Janice

by Jen

please let us know the results of Danny's stress test. And I agree that we all have daily stress in our lives - in some form - so let's remember each other in prayer.
Friends, I love you all!

To All

by Patti

Up here in the Artic circle as Kaye appropriately stated, we stay indoors as much as possible so will be praying for all. Spoke at the Funeral of my friend's son, very sad, especially since my own 21 year son accompanied me. I cannot imagine her feelings when she went down stairs to wake him up and he was gone...home to be with The Lord. Twenty five, oh my, how young but God in His infinite Wisdom...Love to all...PS: We have not been above zero for the past 14 days. :-0

Don't know anything yet...

by Janice

although they ran several tests on him...fussed at him for not taking one of his meds as prescribed. He came home with a monitor that has to be worn for 24 hours. He'll return it tomorrow. I guess they'll get back to us soon. Thanks for the prayers.

Hope Everything was alright.

by

Janice,

Hope everything is ok with Danny's stress test. I had one done several months back before the blood clot incident and it was "normal." The only way to really detect a problem with the heart is a catheterization; not a bad procedure to undergo. I really dreaded it abut it wasn't nearly as bad as a lot of other tests that I have had done.

You remain in our prayers and the Hales also.

Need Prayer

by

One of the blessings of this board is knowing we have friends who will support us in prayer.

Jim and I are facing an uncertain situation and important decisions. We want to be in the perfect center of God's will, and ask that you pray to that end.

Thanks!

Kaye, you

by Patti

will be in my prayers. I pray God will guide and direct you and yours by His Holy Spirit. And when you don't know what to do, stand still and wait upon The Lord. I have learned that one the hard way. love you.

Appreciate the encouragement

by

Knew I could count on you all. Been thinking about you since the Artic circle moved south. I had so many layers on when I went out this morning, I felt like a toddler in a snowsuit.
