It was the beginning of winter
The year two thousand and four
When two friends joined hearts
And pledged their love forever more

Tradition they did not follow
Which was the case since the start
You see this couple in love
Were three thousand miles apart

Many months had passsed by
And they took time to get to know
All and everything about one another
As their friendship continued to grow
