Love is Never Having to Say "Sorry," Deanie

You know, Deanie, I never understood that movie, "Love Story." Our film didn't have the most upbeat ending, but at least there was no long drawn out death scene, "preppie." Well, my dad did jump out the window, but it was over pretty quick and the camera didn't wallow in it. Mainly, I never understood the bit about love never having to say "sorry." I wouldn't expect love to beg and grovel Unless of course it wanted to...
So, why can't it say "sorry" once in a while, if it feels like it? Of course, love can get down, party, have fun and be silly, rude and crude even, you know one of life's celebrations. But my idea of love is that it's basically pretty kind, considerate and polite. Sometimes, lots of times, feelings get hurt in relationships, sometimes it's hard to avoid it, even being on your best behavior, and I think at those times a well meant, "sorry," goes a long way toward mending fences. What do you think, Deanie?

Strange dear, but true dear,
When I'm close to you, dear
The stars fill the sky
So in love with you am I
Even without you
My arms fold about you
You know darling why
So in love with you am I
In love with the night mysterious
The night when you first were there
Trick or treat!
In love with my joy delirious
When I knew that you could care
So taunt me, and hurt me
Deceive me, desert me
I'm yours, till I die...
Not to worry, darlin' I got MET
So in love... So in love....
So in love with you, my love...am I....
And after doing all those awful things to me
You never even have to say "sorry"
Unless of course if you want to
