While we do understand that certain photos may be offensive to some viewers, we also realize that there is a far larger number of people who wish to make their own decisions whether or not to view such material, rather than acquiesce to what a publisher or institution deems inappropriate or morally objectionable.
Much like as is the case with the music recording industry, we believe that questionable materials should be labeled as such so that innocent viewers will not happen upon them by accident. We think that by placing the photos behind a "graphic warning", we can come to an equitable balance between responsible journalism and providing a desired service to our visitors.
