I rang the reproductive technology council here today (western australia).
There is a bill going through parliament right now re surrogacy.
It will take some time to get through the process as there maybe amendments to the bill - re: the whole thing will need to go through the parliament again and then a vote actually taken.
Anyway, good news. This time I will not be discriminated against as I am single, have a womb, and am using donor sperm and egg.
I will believe it when I see it (in print) however I feel a little easier tonight.
I still have three embies left in the freezer. If they don't work I still have options. I would adopt tomorrow but as I am single I am always at the bottom of every list plus I may be too old now.
The above is only a little step closer to surrogacy in W.A. however, even a little step is better than nothing
